I have followed jfedor’s excellent video for the configuration. Unfortunately I do not have access to the PlayStation Access controller (the disabled client I am helping is several 100km away) for end-to-end test and can only perform a benchtop test with my multi-meter to confirm the V7 is working.
I have measured resistances from both the S and R1 pins to the wiper pins R1 and T while moving the joystick position, as shown in the table below:
I’m reading 3.69 kOhm between the wiper and either end in the neutral position, 150-190 Ohm at one extreme and 4.90 kOhm at the other. This works with the PlayStation Access controller (it must do some auto-ranging to be ready for various joysticks).
I wonder why it’s not 10k and more linear. I’d check my notes from when I originally designed this, but I don’t think I made any.
