I cannot get the Steam Controller (2026) to work

I put together a RP Pico hid remapper device and it works great for other controllers like the Dualsense, Genesis USB, Xbox Series etc, but I cannot get it to work with my Steam Controller. It connects, but it does not show any readings in the Monitor screen to be able to know what to map.

I’m wondering if I have to do something extra in order for it to show up? I tried via direct plug and with the puck. The controller acts like it’s connected to the device and it stays connected with the puck as well.

Thanks.

Do you have the latest HID Remapper firmware release on the Pico?

Yep, it’s the latest on the github “r2026-05-20”.

I just checked and a Steam Controller firmware update broke something. I will look into it.

Please update to the latest HID Remapper firmware release, it should fix it.

I hope they don’t make a habit out of it.

That was fast! It works now. Thanks again.

Yeah. I did read something about them changing something that broke a lot of different remapping programs on Windows. Didn’t cross my mind for hid remapper for some reason even though it would.
