I attempted to order some v6 and v7 boards from JLCPCB but they’re out of some of the necessary components. Are there alternative components I can point the system to in order to proceed with the order?
I perused PCBWay and a few others but their ordering process is not as easy (for a noob like me) as JLCPCB. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
The resistors are very common and generic parts and can be replaced by anything with the same package and value, but these specifically save you $3 per component type because they’re “basic” parts and JLC has them already loaded on the machine. I see that they’re in stock right now.
I don’t know of a drop in replacement for the digital potentiometer, but you can preorder it at JLCPCB and they will get them for you.
I see that the optocoupler can’t be preordered but it should be easier to find a drop in replacement for it. VOS617A-7T (C190671) or LTV-356T-A (C17565970) may work and can be preordered. Check the orientation of the part because sometimes on JLCPCB even parts with the same package have a different default orientation on the footprint.
All that said, unless you specifically need the v7 for an existing PlayStation Access controller setup, I’d consider using another HID Remapper (perhaps v5 or v6 depending on what else you need) together with a Brook FGC2 adapter for PS5 compatibility. You could even plug a PlayStation Access controller into that if you want it in your setup.
When I originally made the v7 board, FGC2 wasn’t an option, but right now it’s what I would use. You can plug everything you need into HID Remapper, configure it all in one place and use the Brook adapter for console compatibility.
Hi Mr. Fedoryński! Firstly, Thank you very much for creating this project! The amount of detail you’ve you’ve included reveals how much time and effort you’ve put into it! I’m sure its merely a fraction of what you’ve truly done, but it is recognized and greatly appreciated!
Thank you for the heads-up! I tried ordering just last night (EST-US) and the screen shot of the v7 I included was the result.
I was able to complete and save the v6 order in my account for later processing. Hopefully this means they’re in the process of restocking the components necessary to build the v7 boards. I just tried the order process while typing this reply and it looks like all that is missing is the DIP potentiometers and phototransistors. I’ll hold off a little longer and try the v7 order in the near future.
Yes, one of the v7 boards was going to go a dual PS Access Controller rig project with the necessity for the analogue inputs; I see this board VERY useful in another upcoming project.
I was going to use a v6 board in place of a Hori Flex Controller for a friend. Far too many negatives for the Flex Controller: Too expense, overly proprietary and impossible to find!
Although I do not have an Xbox Adaptive Controller on my desk yet, one of the v6 boards will most certainly be connected to it just for experimentation.
Other than than accessibility gaming, the capabilities for these units are pretty awesome! For the world of accessibility, its an invaluable tool!
