Steam Controller on Switch 2 doesn't work with HID Remapper

I’m using a Raspberry Pi Pico (2020) and my Steam Controller’s inputs are not being recognized on Switch 2. I’ve tried both USB ports on the docking station and nothing happens. The Switch 2 doesn’t recognize the controller at all, even when HID Remapper is set to Switch Controller mode. I tested it with Steam to make sure the inputs were all working and I can confirm Steam recognizes it. Is there maybe I setting I need to change?

Edit: I did some more testing and confirmed it also does not work with Switch 1.

It should work on both Switch 1 and 2. Of course the emulated device type has to be set to “Switch gamepad”.

When you say you tested with Steam I assume you mean Steam Controller (or puck) → HID Remapper → PC? If that works then the mapping is OK (the default should be OK).

So I don’t know what’s going on. Have you tried connecting to the USB port on the console in portable mode?

Figured it out. I was using a micro USB cable that only had connections in place for power. Switching USB cables resolved the problem.
