USB hub issue when connecting mouse and kb at the same time

Hello! First of all, thanks for this wonderful project. I built an HID Remapper using a single pico board and a female usb cable. I bought a cheap USB hub from Amazon that seems to only detect one controller either the mouse or the keyboard but not both at the same time. I’m wondering if its a USB hub problem or if its not possible to connect the usb hub to the female cable that is soldered to the board (maybe I have to remove the female cable and solder the hub to the board directly??).

Does the fact that my female cable is only usb 2.0 matter at all? In case the hub is incompatible, is there any list or reliable usb hub that works for sure?

Thanks a lot!

You’re doing it correctly, it’s just that not all hubs work equally well unfortunately.

I don’t really have a list of recommended hubs, I got the ones I have a long time ago.

I’m afraid you just have to try another one.

I have done the same and I found, like anther reply. Not all usb hubs are the same.
So I have it working satisfactorily with a caveat.

The mouse does not automatically get recognised sometimes so I had to unplug and re-plug it, in the end I fitted a USB inline power switch and it is all great now.

I have an external keyboard and a razor mouse.
